I Swear I'm Not Dead

So development has been slow. For one, I haven't WANTED to code, and if I don't wanna code, ain't any coding getting done. On top of that I'm starting up a Twitch.TV stream, which has eaten up a lot of my time, along with a rekindled interest in StarCraft Brood War. Add that to a work schedule, keeping up with friends and playing in men's football (soccer for you memers) leagues, my free time to code is more or less non-existent. That doesn't however mean that I won't be working on it. Only a portion of writing an application is actually sitting down and typing code and troubleshooting, another portion is design, which I'm awful at but I enjoy more, and thinking up elegant solutions to problems so that the code you've written doesn't need to be constantly rewritten to accommodate new features. I'm sure anyone who's done programming, both hobbyists like myself and professionals, understand this. In any case, I'll probably resume prog...

Quick Update on Development

What it do, what it do? So I've been pretty much invisible for about a week now, I've posted no updates to the project, mostly because I've honestly done no real programming work on it, but there's a reason for that. I've been sick as a dog for the past few days, today being the first day I've actually shown up to my job to do a full work day, and as a result, programming has not been my focus. This doesn't mean the project is dead, as it often can in ZT2. I will be finishing this program to the best of my ability. Right now, my plan is to post a regular DevLog of some kind on this blog at least weekly, likely on Fridays or something, we'll see how that pans out, and I may start uploading YouTube videos bi-weekly or monthly showing the development progress. In any case, just wanted to post this quick update to let you all know that I am indeed alive, and yes, the project is still happening, albeit not at the speed I would have hoped. Thanks for t...

Intro to ZooMod

ZooMod Launcher A Custom Launcher for Zoo Tycoon 2 By Costanzee What is ZooMod? ZooMod is a launcher designed specifically for use with Zoo Tycoon 2. The idea is to allow mod management to become much easier, and allow the user to modify specific values (graphics settings, persistent unlocks) without the need for XML swapping, modification or launching zt.exe How does ZooMod’s Mod Manager work? The ZooMod mod manager works via symbolic linking of Z2F files (the file format used to store and distribute mods) to the Zoo Tycoon 2 directory. The idea is to have a Zoo Tycoon 2 directory that looks and feels vanilla for ease-of-access, but will still load all of your custom content into the game as if it were installed into the main directory. Where can I download ZooMod? ZooMod is still under development and will not be available for download until a functional version has been created. At that time, a webpage logging release notes and patches will be posted, along with...
